Will this cure my migraine?

This is one of the questions I get asked the most. It’s an important question. What we know is that migraine is a genetic neurological condition. As yet, there is no cure for the condition.

The good news is that doesn’t mean you have to juggle your life around migraine.

Regulating your nervous system and practicing the right techniques supports you to set aside rigid restrictions that right now take up so much of your brain space and time. It also helps you to feel more and more comfortable even with symptoms because you’ll know what to do and know that it will pass.

What if I have symptoms when my session is scheduled?

The worry around the next migraine symptoms and how it can waylaid the best made plans is a common one. So, let’s address this up front and recognise that perhaps you may have symptoms when one of your sessions is scheduled.

If that happens I encourage you to go ahead with your session. I do that because many of my clients tell me it is such a relief to finally share with someone what it is really like for them when they have symptoms. No longer needing to pretend they’re okay when they are not.

However, I know that it may not always be possible.

Should that be the case, I will do my best to reschedule your session within the 12 weeks of RECOVER YOU program. However, in some instances your rescheduled session may happen after the 12-week period.

I’m still a bit skeptical about all of this

Good. A dash of healthy skepticism is good. Whether you’ve tried lots of things or have just put up with living with migraine, it’s understandable to feel skeptical that anything can change. What’s different about RECOVER YOU?

You’ll discover, perhaps for the first time, how the brain makes pain. Why cutting more and more out of your life is actually counterproductive. You’ll understand that stuff gets in the way, why that is and what to do about it.

How much time do I need?

There are 11 weekly 1-hour sessions with me by video call (Weeks 1-6 and weeks 8-12.) In addition, you will need to give yourself time to practice your techniques. Typically, you will need to allow yourself around one hour each day. This one-hour is usually divided into small bites of between 5 – 10 minutes.

And, you’ll also begin giving yourself time to do things that you enjoy. That’s a vital part of RECOVER YOU. I’ll help you find the hidden time you don’t even know that you have.

I can’t make weekly sessions, can I still do RECOVER YOU?

Regulating your nervous system requires consistency and practice. Gaining the confidence to swap rigid restrictions for living your life your way takes time. This is why RECOVER YOU is a 12-week program. It gives you the much needed space and time you need.

There is another important reason too that’s good for us to acknowledge.

When we make change it’s usual to encounter resistance. Sometimes that comes from within ourselves; sometimes it comes from those around us. Working together weekly, gives you the support you need to follow the program so that the changes progressively become natural.
